Miyari/Hello!

Welcome to my page. My name is Michelle Anne or Kuyakiari and I’m a Taino Indian woman whose ancestors come from the island of Kiskeya or the Dominican Republic. While many would like to believe that the Taino people are no longer with us by fault of paper genocide, we are still here. My tribal affiliation is with Taino Higuayagua of the Caribbean. In 2024, I became the Uruhudawade or historian of our people. Nothing pleases me more than teaching about our people and making reworked and original designs to honor the ancestors. When I’m not making regalia, I work as a full time high school social studies teacher, manage and create for a pet based online business
